[Text from President Rogers 9/17/2017]
Went out working with [Elder Lindblom] on Thursday. We had a great evening of teaching together.

Honestly this is so hard. I am having a very hard time getting over the whole depression of missing all you at home and it is just hard especially with the constant head aches and legs hurting from walking alllll day.

[Q and A from Elder Lindblom. Received 9/18/2017]
Q: What types of activities are the children in your area involved in?
A: Well, most of the kids are black. They play basketball, smoke weed, and curse a lot.
Q: How many wards do you serve in? What is your ward like?
A: Just one right now. There are younger couples and older couples. There are about 15 primary kids.
Q: When was the last time you laughed with your companion? How do you stay happy together?
A: IDK. We try to joke but he hasn't seen any movies so yeah - it's rough. But I get a new companion on Wednesday.
Q: What are some cultural differences between Gilbert and Utica?
A: [In Gilbert there are] not as many basketball parks loaded with black teenagers. It is not a similar city feel at all.
Q: What did you do on your last P-Day?
A: We played golf or maybe just sat around because we are so flipping poor.
Q: How has your testimony grown since leaving home?
A: Oh my - Well, I already feel like a new person and my scriptures are being used and abused.
Q: How are your headaches these days?
A: Terrible still.
Q: Do the missionaries wear sweaters when it gets cold where you are?
A: Yeah - and hoodies.
Q: How often are you and your companion around other missionaries?
A: P-Days, Zone Conferences, and weekly District Meetings.
Q: Have you nearly completed the 12 week training program? Did you find it helpful?
A: I have completed it, yes. [It was] not at all helpful. I hate those videos of how to teach. I would rather just go out and teach. Try, try again.
Q: What do you like about your Zone Leader?
A: Elder Brunson. [He] sounds like his nose is plugged. He is so funny and he likes watches like me.
Q: What are your top three places to eat out?
A: IDEK. O’Scugnizzo Pizzeria, Burger King, and also maybe Wendy's. IDEK, Taco Bell, anywhere.
Q: Are you finding time to read any of the Ensign talks?
A: Yes, I finished reading the whole thing.
Birthday wish: Ties, watches, cuff links, hoody. Yeahhh, pictures.
