Elder Jed Lindblom

I am trying so hard to stay positive. This work is real hard and my neck and head have been killing for a couple days now. I had to go to the ER to get blood work done and then all day yesterday I had to stay in the apartment. It is so not fun. I know though [that] this mission is going to bless my life and especially the life of those I love. I am feeling a lot better in the head [but] my neck and back still hurt pretty bad. But I am tough enough. I miss y'all so much. I absolutely Love getting letters they make my day.  Every single day at approximately 3:07 the mail man comes and I just can't wait till 5:00 to come home and check the mailbox.  I am so glad to be out here, no doubt.  It is pretty hard missing a lot of people and things I love. I am learning to be more Christlike, which is probably hard to believe: Elder Lindblom MORE Christlike?  Is that even possible?  Well I am here to assure you that I don't even feel like the same person and already...

While watching the Provo MTC tour on youtube, we saw Elder Lindblom and his companion Elder Neuder in the bookstore. You can see him at the 4:25 mark. We really love those rare Jed sightings.

Hey - So this week was literally crazy.  On last Monday I am sorry i didn't have very long to do email time because we were hiking. But well whatever. We were outside one of our investigators houses and this crazy huge man walked up. He was super high or drunk or both. He started just telling us his life story and he had a gun in his hand. He said his wife [who he just] had a 2 month old baby with, now he just found out she had cheated on him and so he asked us if it was a bad idea for him to just go into her house and kill his wife and then the baby also. It was crazy. I didn't even know what to say. I just said "no don't do it" and he just looked at us and we walked away. When we were far enough we called the cops and reported him and yeah. Soooo pretty scary but just everyday life in the hood. I am finding that the days out here truly do feel like weeks and the weeks themselves feel like days. It is so weird. Hey - So this week has been pretty awesome!  We picked up 19 new investigators and we have just been going at it every day super hard. I am learning more and more kind of slowly, but still learning to trust in the Lords timing so much more. I love this church and all the many blessings it is continuing to bring and so yeah. Quote of the week....one of our investigators named Ann has a lot of health problems and she stutters pretty bad when she reads.  When we were reading the Book Of Mormon with her she said "what is this shake - spear?" This week has been very difficult. I am having a hard time adjusting but I'll get there soon I know. I love this culture I get to hang around.  We have three sets of projects inside our boundaries and we also got 14 new investigators this past week. We have three people on date for baptism. I am getting bigger, not fat though.  Looking forward to getting off that plane  for the big reveal.
